Horchata whata?

Not exactly a reason I hate trendy people, just a comment on trendy people #14: Vampire Weekend is the quintessential trendy band of which all others aspire to be
  1. They clearly tapped into the whole twilight-esque vibe
  2. They're ivy league educated
  3. They wear funny hats AND the occasional pretentious glasses
  4. Their album cover looks like a polaroid picture
  5. They have a song named after an uncommon grammatical dilemma
  6. They have a song named after an exotic beverage
  7. They name drop masada in a song
  8. They reference congolese soukous music as an influence...
Enough said.

  1. i feel like hipsters are moving on. these days, if you're listening to edward sharpe i'd venture a guess that you need about 6 showers and a friend to destroy your flannel shirts.

  2. Hey now, dont be hating on a good band just because of the douche bags that happen to like them.

  3. Trend is only as creative as the one that created it.

I consider myself pretty creative person.

I strongly dislike the idea of trend and dislike how some people try to "look" creative when they don't have a flipping clue what creativity even means.

Creativity is about originality. Trend is about following unoriginal concepts that never belonged to you in the first place.

Creativity is about living outside the social norms.

Trend is all about living within the social norms. It's like buying someone a greeting card instead of writing them a letter.

I'm sick of trendy people thinking that a flannel shirt, bed hair, an iPhone and converse makes them an automatic graphic designer or rock star.

Yeah, you're original alright. As original as the other thousands of people who look exactly like you.

    Trend is nothing but insecurity.
